Alloy offers a menopause consultation through an assessment and secure physician messaging. For someone who has questions but has not decided on treatment, that is a different proposition from choosing a product first. The useful test of the process is whether the exchange explains the concern and the proposed next step, rather than simply how quickly a prescription could be shipped.
We reviewed Alloy’s current consultation, HRT and terms pages on September 28, 2026. No assessment, messaging exchange or purchase was tested. This review separates the public invitation to talk from the commercial and clinical conditions that apply if the person continues into treatment.
An assessment should contain the unresolved question
The consultation page advertises a $49 consultation, a short assessment and assignment to a menopause-trained doctor for portal messaging. It says the doctor reviews the assessment and answers questions. The advertised completion time for the form does not establish how long the clinical exchange will take or whether more information will be required.
Our hot-flash and sleep goals guide can help identify what the reader wants clarified before any proposal is accepted. The Winona review discusses another intake-led service where explicitly asking a question matters. A concise form can begin an assessment; it cannot guarantee that the first account contains everything clinically relevant.
Messaging is a format, not immediate availability
Alloy describes chat through its secure portal rather than promising a live video appointment on the consultation page. Its HRT page promotes connection in as little as twelve hours. We treat that as a marketing timeframe, not a response deadline, reserved appointment or verified outcome for a particular account.
For comparison, Wisp’s menopause consult also separates access from a guaranteed live appointment format. A reader can ask whether a longer discussion is possible and how a concern is escalated when messaging is insufficient. The ability to send a message at any hour does not make either service a source of emergency care or continuous real-time clinical attention.
The consultation and the medicines are different purchases
The HRT page calls the $49 doctor consultation a one-time fee. It separately displays treatment prices: estradiol patch from $74.99, pill from $39.99, and gel or spray at $69.99, each described per thirty days of treatment. These figures are not a single all-inclusive consultation-and-prescription charge.
They also do not establish the amount charged at a selected checkout or the exact product quantity dispensed. A clinician may discuss a different option or additional medicine. Before confirming an order, the patient would need the applicable total and renewal terms. A thirty-day treatment-price display does not by itself mean that the seller bills only one such period at a time.
A proposed hormone needs a purpose the reader understands
Alloy’s HRT record lists several estradiol forms and says progesterone may be included according to health history. The list does not authorize a person to select, combine or switch medicines independently. Our vaginal-symptom conversation guide helps keep a particular concern distinct from a general request for systemic hormone treatment.
The later-start guide adds questions about timing and earlier decisions. FDA information emphasizes the personal benefits and risks of hormone therapy. Alloy’s percentages and rapid-relief advertising are not evidence of what a particular reader will experience, and we did not use them to rank the quality of its clinicians.
The prescribing professional is separate from the platform
Alloy’s terms, revised May 28, 2026, distinguish the company from independent US medical practitioners. They say the service does not replace relationships with regular healthcare professionals and is not for emergencies or urgent situations. A consultation through the website therefore should not be treated as a complete substitute for other care.
The same terms make prescription access conditional on the provider’s decision and restrict service to locations where it is available in the United States. They allow a request to transfer an issued prescription to a pharmacy of choice. That is a published policy, not proof of pharmacy stock, individual eligibility or a successfully completed transfer.
Read cancellation and refund rules as separate clocks
The terms say subscription cancellation must occur seven days before the subscription period ends. They separately require product shipment cancellation or pause requests five business days before processing. Those deadlines concern different events and should not be collapsed into a single casual cancel-anytime description. We have not tested either request process.
Consultation, membership and other service fees are described as nonrefundable. Physical-product refund requests are limited to the first shipment of each product and must be made within thirty days of receipt, with other exclusions and conditions. These rules do not promise that a consultation fee is returned if the resulting treatment suggestion is not what the person hoped to receive.
Continuing access should keep the clinical issue visible
The consultation page makes unlimited physician messaging conditional on purchasing a prescription. That is important for someone who only wants the initial conversation: ongoing access should not be assumed without confirming its conditions. The terms also allow messaging access to be suspended when subscription payment is not current.
Our bleeding-history guide illustrates why a new clinical concern cannot be reduced to account administration. The patient needs to know which professional remains responsible and how to obtain appropriate care when the portal cannot resolve an issue. Alloy’s public records describe a pathway for discussion and conditional prescribing; they do not establish an individual clinical outcome or a guaranteed uninterrupted care relationship.
